Day one proper of our Easter holiday saw us enjoy a Crail Day Trip.

First stop was the harbour, then on to the beach.

At the harbour, the wind was icy cold. Fingers were numb and cheeks were rosy red. We made our way to the beach, optimistically armed with buckets and spades. The kids weren’t too bothered about the cold. They were wrapped up warm and would have wanted to make sandcastles even if it had been snowing!

After the beach, we went for a wander along to the kid’s park. Along the way, we spotted a trawler with a bunch of seagulls following it, hoping for some cast-offs.

We then headed off to Cambo Country House & Estate where, shockingly, the sun came out! Cambo is a large estate with forest and riverside walks, many beautiful gardens, pigs to feed and a large stately home. A tea room has a selection of cakes and table football, which entertained us all. There was a large trampoline, rope swings, trails and millions of snowdrops. Kids entry was free, adults £5.50.Crail Day Trip

A day jam-packed with stuff. We finished off with Fish and Chips from the world famous Anstruther chippy, which was amazing. As you’d expect after such a busy day, everyone slept very well!
