We all like clothes that speak to us, right? Clothes that say something that we can relate to.
The problem with being a forty-something bloke is that not many brands want to talk to the likes of me.
I get many emails from clothes companies that want me to write about them, but I think what’s the point? Bland shops which don’t sell things that I’d ever wear or like. I don’t agree with writing about any company just for the sake of blog content.
I’m not fussy, or overly stylish, or anything. I’m just not an area of society which is particularly well catered for when it comes to relaxed clothing.
So, when I get an email from a company asking me to consider their clothing, and then visit their site, it’s a pleasant surprise to see stuff that immediately clicks with me. Original and Unrestored are that company.
Their collections include a classic motorcycle range, the 50s / 60s / 70s decades collection, the brilliant social club range, Island Records IPA, and the Mountain Way. There’s also an Original & Unrestored new Logo Range. I was invited to pick out some from these collections. So what did I choose?
I’m a seventies child, so I went for a heather style red t-shirt with the Built in the Seventies logo. As someone who’s in the process of starting a brewery in a garage, the comfortable and heavy duty IPA sweatshirt.
I also picked up a Green s/sleeved Logo T-Shirt, and a black Motorcycle Club Long Sleeve T-Shirt.
Original & Unrestored sell a range of clothes from tees with short and long sleeves, to sweatshirts, hoodies and shirts. I’m particularly fond of the heather style which looks and feels very soft and comfortable.
I’ve never felt such an immediate connection to a brand since I bought 501s as a teenager. Maybe it’s because most other brands don’t see men born in the 50s – 70s as an interesting audience, but we’re here and we still like clothes that resonate with us! Original & Unrestored have got a cracking range of stuff which all clicks with me, and which I’d be delighted to wear.
