Pomora don’t just provide incredible olive oil. They give you an opportunity to support the industry too.
We all know about zoos offering opportunities to adopt animals. Pomora have taken that idea and applied it to olive trees and their farmers in Campania (Antonio) and Sicily (Carmelo). They will also send you 12 x 250ml tins of a variety of olive oil throughout the year along with recipe suggestions.
First up, you’ll get a certificate and details of the farmer who is tending to your tree. My certificate of adoption confirms that my tree is in Mascalucia, number 537, and is tended by Carmelo. I also get a leaflet with details of the farms and the farmers.
It really helps to see these people who are benefitting from the tree adoptions, and are making this incredible product.
The oils are sent quarterly, three tins at a time. They alternative between the plain and flavoured oils. An annual adoption subscription will get you the following:
– Winter: 3 x Olio Nuovo – our youngest, freshest oil;
– Spring: 3 x flavoured oils (e.g. 1 x Lemon, 1 x Chilli and 1 x Rosemary);
– Summer: 3 x classic Extra Virgin Olive Oil;
– Autumn: 3 x flavoured oils (e.g. 1 x Basil, 1 x Garlic and 1 x White Truffle).
I’m no stranger to Pomora’s oils and can testify to their amazing flavours. The lemon, basil and rosemary ones in particular lends themselves very well to a multitude of dishes. In case you’re unsure of exactly what to do with the oils, each of the shipments is accompanied by a set of recipe cards for those tins.
I personally love the idea of subscriptions as a gift. It’s the very definition of a gift that keeps on giving. A subscription to Pomora will keep you in the finest of olive oil for the next 12 months.
