West Yorkshire hop-junkies Saltaire Brewery are old friends of Looking for the Postman.
Back in March, I was introduced to Saltaire when they sent me half a dozen of their finest brews to check out. Their range and depth of flavour impressed me from the off. So, who better to provide some beers for the Christmas Postman than Saltaire!
I asked for a good selection for Christmas from Saltaire, and they delivered big time. So here are the Saltaire Brewery yuletide ales for your perusal!
Stateside IPA American style IPA with Cascade, Centennial and Amarillo hops providing strong bitterness. (6.0 % ABV)
SaltaireXS Imperial IPA Pale gold beer with a smooth malt base and intense bitterness from Simcoe and Galaxy hops. Its massive hop flavour is developed through multiple hop charges during the brewing process. Dry hopping during fermentation adds even more fresh hop aroma and flavour. (9.5% ABV)
White Christmas A pale refreshing beer made with pale rye and Vienna malts. Light hop flavours are enhanced with coriander seeds and orange peel added to the final boil. (4.5 % ABV)
South Island Pale A clean, pale beer, with cool crisp fruitiness from New Zealand hops, grown at Tasman Bay. (3.5 % ABV)
Amarillo Gold A straw coloured bright wheat beer with a light biscuit base, a distinct orange bouquet and intense citrus flavour. (4.4 % ABV)
Hazelnut Coffee Porter A smooth, dark red porter with German malts and hops. Additions of fresh ground coffee and roast hazelnut syrup give this speciality beer, depth and complexity. (4.6 % ABV)
So there you have it. Saltaire’s amazing selection of top quality ales, with the seasonal flavours and a lovely kick to mellow off your Christmas time.
