There’s nothing like a winter walk to blow out those cobwebs.
It’s inevitable that much of Christmas and New Year will be indoors and consuming chocolates. Our traditional winter walk has been an early January stroll through the forest at Pollok Park, Glasgow.
It’s a huge park, with several routes enjoyed by cyclists, joggers, dog walkers and families like us.
There’s a large variety of trees too. It’s our go-to play during conker hunting season!
Jenny made a list of things that she wanted to spot during the walk. She managed to tick them off pretty quickly!
I look slightly like a dodgy character stalking some people but I assure you this is me with my family.
We were heading towards the forest pond which has a small island with a little bridge to it. It wasn’t quite cold enough for the water to have completely frozen, but it wasn’t far off it.
Glasgow City Council have lots of guides, like this one, along the woodland trails. There was little sign of life on today’s chilly stroll apart from a couple of noisy magpies.
