I’m a geek. I’ve always been a geek and I don’t see that changing in the future.
The fact that all my childhood cultural references are now gold pleases me somewhat. Whether its 8-bit computing (I still play Commodore 64 games) or my beloved Star Wars (I was once lifted up high into the air in front of the whole school by original Darth Vader, David Prowse), it’s all in fashion and recognised as universally awesome. The 8 year old me would be so happy.
Being a geek means that I’ve never been particularly stylish. I scrubbed up alright for my wedding, but normally you’ll see me happy in a t-shirt. A geeky, slogan’d, probably-a-bit-too-small-for-me t-shirt.
Did you know what May 25th is Geek Pride day? No better place, then, to stock up on suitable clothing than Geek T-Shirt wizards Tostadero. When I saw that Tostadero were looking for people to check out their range of geek t-shirts, I ran screaming to my laptop to send an email of interest.
But which t-shirt to choose? So many choices. When you click on their geek range, it gives you 4, 754 choices. Safe to say they’re going to have something for everyone then!
Here’s a few of the more popular choices at the moment (and you can click on any of the t-shirts to see them on the Tostadora website):
So with so many awesome geek references and choices, why one to pick?
Well, it had to be one that combined two of my geek passions. Star Wars and 8-bit videogames. This is the one I picked –
Simple. Humorous. Classy. Timeless. But mostly, geeky.
